Coquimbite & Chalcanthite - "Ice Cream"

Seller: eMineralogy.com

€960

Superb specimen of exceptionally rare Coquimbite, extracted in 1999. This colorful piece features an abundance of violet Coquimbite crystals, complemented by electric blue Chalcanthite and minor amounts of Voltaite and Botryogen. The vivid color combination creates a highly aesthetic appearance that is difficult to capture in photographs. Take a close look at the detailed photos to see just how incredible this specimen is. What adds to its aesthetic value and uniqueness is that the specimen resembles ice cream - so if you're a collector who specializes in “looks-like” minerals, this is a piece you must have. Coquimbite has the interesting property of subtly changing color depending on the lighting conditions - it appears more purple under warm (yellow) light and paler under cool (white) or natural sunlight. Specimens of this quality from the Alfredo Pit are extremely rare and almost impossible to find on the market today. As a sensitive mineral, Coquimbite should be stored in a sealed container to prevent dehydration. By buying this mineral you also buy rights to use our photos.
