A striking thumbnail of golden-yellow wulfenite crystals from the classic Touissit Pb–Zn district. Several thick, tabular blades rise vertically from the matrix in a radiating group, forming a very sculptural, three-dimensional arrangement that strongly suggests the silhouette of a butterfly with open wings. The faces are bright and lustrous, with good translucency toward the edges and subtle internal zoning that catches the light beautifully. The color is a saturated honey-yellow, typical of the best Touissit pieces and quite different from the more orange tones of Mexican or Mibladen wulfenites, making the locality easy to recognize. Smaller crystals at the base support the main group and provide balance and elegance from multiple viewing angles. Because of its size and aesthetics, this is an ideal first-class thumbnail for starting a high-quality thumbnail collection. Its clear "butterfly" shape also makes it perfect for collectors who enjoy minerals that resemble recognizable shapes or objects. By buying this mineral you also buy rights to use our photos.
